Font - r/weddingshaming Posted by u/Scotsgit73 2 Couple fails to take over wedding planning Foul Friends OC This is my second wedding story. As the title suggests, someone (who wasn't getting married) decided that what they said had to be the order of the day for stag night/hen do (bachelor/bachelorette party for those in the US). This was back in 2015. A really nice couple I know (G and K) had announced that they were getting married. Now, they have a large circle of friends, myself included, b

Font - T and A are possibly the most entitled people that I've ever met. Having a conversation? They have to barge in and talk about what they want to talk about. And boy, do they talk. It's basically a non-stop rant about whatever gets their goat that week. You're also not allowed to have any other opinion, unless you really want them screaming and ranting in your face. As a result, they don't have many friends and aren't usually invited to parties.

Font - Being the kind of people that they are, the whole bit of 'not being invited to parties' seems to pass them by. You're having a party? Expect them to turn up uninvited. Dinner for a few friends? They're going to turn up, demanding to be fed. A friend was having a birthday party for her 5 year old, they turned up at the party (without a present) and demanded to be fed - not the sandwiches, crisps and cake that are a staple of kids' parties, but an actual sit-down, three course meal. So afte

Font - Now, G and K were quite surprised by this, but were going to allow them to stay, right up until talk turned to the stag night/hen do. At this, A reaches into her handbag and pulls out a large sheaf of papers. She, it turns out, has a list of what both parties will involve. Without being asked, she then started to rant about what each one was going to consist of. It wasn't to be held in a city that had a 'dubious' reputation for partying (so Amsterdam and Dublin were out), there was no to

Then OP dropped the bombshell of what resulted...

Font - There was silence at this, until it was broken by G clearing his throat and saying: "I don't know how to break this to you nicely, but we weren't going to invite either of you to the wedding, let alone the stag night or hen do. In fact, we're puzzled why you're here, as you weren't invited." First time ever that both T and A went silent. They left soon afterwards. Speaking to a mutual friend later, it turned out that they thought that they were the glue that kept out social circle going a

And the OP actually answered a lot of questions too!

Font - Miserable_Rub_1848 How did they manage to find out about, and turn up at, the parties they weren't invited to? 18 mtragedy. Why has no one ever thrown them out of events they showed up at but weren't invited to? 11 Reply Share 9 Reply Share Scotsgit73 OP There's been a couple of times it has happened - turning up a wake uninvited (they weren't even dressed for a funeral) and expecting to be fed. They were also kicked out of a birthday party for me, they expected me to take them and out fe

Font - jasperjamboree A question I have to ask is who was leaking info to them about these parties to where they would show up uninvited? It seems like they showed up even if the gathering was small and intimate like a dinner party. 6 Reply Share Scotsgit73 OP. That I would like to know. They turned up at party for me and I've never given them my address. 4 Reply Share

Font - M-RsYummy Mummy Did they actually get their sit down 3 course meal at the 5 year olds birthday party...?? 4.↓ Reply Share Scotsgit73 OP Nope. One of the other Mums there took them to one side and told them to stop being so ridiculous. They left soon after. Reply Share 7

Font - Not_Brilliant_8006 Wow lol I'm shocked. Aside from the wedding aspect, how does one show up to a child's party and demand a sit down dinner? I can't wrap my head around this, like do you just start complaining? And did they get the dinner at the child's birthday party or did they get booed out lol? This reminds me on RHONJ, one of the women had a birthday for her boys and had pizza and pop. Totally normal, and the women complained that there was no "real food" lol beccasue they wanted sit

    The entitlement is shocking

Font - GothPenguin That level of obtuseness is staggering. 47 Reply Share Scotsgit73 OP. The sheaf of papers that A pulled out looked like it was dissertation length. She really didn't get that she couldn't order people around at their own wedding. Vote Reply Share

The nightmare couple seemed to bully their way into friend group events

Font - Scotsgit73 OP I'm guessing through social media. I also have a couple friends who will cave at the slightest pressure and these two basically like to bully everyone to do what they want. Reply Share 14 beansblog23. That was my exact question. Reply Share 2

Font - Elliott2030 I really want a continuation of this. Did they exit the friend group entirely? Did anyone else tell them to their faces they weren't invited somewhere? I need closure!!! LOL! Reply Give Award Share Report Save Follow Vote Scotsgit73 OP. Like a bad smell, they continued to hang around. When the pandemic kicked off in the UK, they locked themselves away - despite seeing themselves as the glue that kept us all together, they weren't keen to check up on other. Which really was qui

The couple probably won't be back to any other meetups with that friend group

Font - BadBandit1970 Did T and A try and crash the wedding? Did they find another group to infiltrate and terrorize? Don't leave us hanging. 6 Reply Share Scotsgit73 OP. Thankfully no- they hate G and K now and will try and gossip about them to the few friends that they have left. The thing is, everyone knows what happened, so anything that they say is automatically seen as sour grapes. 6 Reply Share
