'You're Not Committed' Fiancé Threatens Girlfriend With Breakup If She Doesn't Take His Last Name

Look, we love ‘love’ as much as the next person, but some people need to be kicked hard, somewhere special, preferably between the legs. These people usually lack logic, and someone has got to wake ‘em up and tell ‘em to treat their SO better! And who better, than us? But before we get into that, let’s talk about marriage for a sec.

Proposing to somebody is a pretty big deal, and then following through to the getting married part is quite something. It's a pretty big decision — after all, you're gonna spend the rest of your life with this person (Well, 50/50 guys, you know the divorce rate). Then there's an enormous amount of stress involved when actually planning the whole shebang (Do we sound bitter? As if we've been there, done that? Hmmm…). 

So why make it harder than it already is? You gotta pick a venue, the correct flowers, forage for a guest list, choose a yummy yet diverse catering, and make sure that the people who hate each don't cross paths in the seating area. For a day that's supposed to be ‘all about you’, there's a lot of ‘all about others’ going on. You gotta be considerate of everybody else. 

Let's just say that the last thing that should be a dealbreaker throughout this entire grueling process, is if you're gonna take your hubby's last name or not. Sounds a bit ridiculous, right? Exactly our thoughts. One Redditer, @11monthdryspell (ignore the irony in the username), took to the subreddit ‘TwoXChromosones’ to ask for advice regarding her fiance's (frankly) stupid ‘last name’ reasoning. Not gonna lie, we're pretty confused. How is she ‘not committing' to him, exactly? If that's a dealbreaker, you got bigger fish to fry sis.
