Font - r/pettyrevenge. Posted by u/Appropriate_Nose_455 19 hours ago D Told my (ex)friend that he was cheating on his girlfriend with a coworker and now he's getting deported. My (ex)friend was cheating on his girlfriend. I know his girlfriend because he talked about her all the time at the office (we work together). He would mention her and talk about how he can't wait to marry her and live with her forever.

Font - He started a sexual affair with our coworker and then started hitting on my girlfriend. I confronted him about both of these things and he lied to my face about it. I know he lied because I was in possession of the evidence (text messages and voicemails) which show his words and plans to engage in infidelity. He tried to gaslight me because he didn't know I had any proof.

Font - The coworker didn't know that my (ex)friend was in a relationship and that he was cheating on his girlfriend. So I told my coworker. And then I told his girlfriend by sending her the evidence of his infidelity. I didn't plan for this to happen, but apparently he was planning on marrying his girlfriend so that he can stay in the country (he's here on student visa which is about to expire). If he married his GF, he would've gotten citizenship. Apparently, he got dumped and now may have to l

Font - I know this sort of makes me an shole, but f that guy. Not only did he hit on my girlfriend, but he lied to my fu face about it. So I blasted his life with the truth and now he's a wreck at work. Anyway, fu that guy. TLDR; I revealed someone's infidelity to his partner. If they married, he would become a citizen. She dumped him, and now he is basically getting deported.

Font - Edit - whoops I used the wrong word. I said "deported" but that's not right. He would've tried to apply for a green card. He had a plan to make it happen and I just got in the way of it by telling the truth. Everyone at work knows. He didn't get fired because there was no policy against coworkers hooking up or anything.

Font - MaleficentPi · edited 3 hr. ago Deported? No. 19 hr. ago He's unable to get a green card after his student visa expires. If he stays past his student visa, THEN he can be deported. As it is, now he's just going to have to either go home or get fu by ICE. Being deported means he broke the law by staying or immigrating illegally. This is "fu you go home".

Font - fistbumpbroseph +2. 18 hr. ago Marriage doesn't guarantee a green card anyway. There's a whole process to it, you have to already BE married, and current wait time is 12-22 months if you're already living here. (9-13 if you go home.) If his student visa was about to expire and he was planning on a spousal visa to keep him here legally he'd already be married and well into the process.

Font - dajur1 +3.19 hr. ago His big plan of marrying his GF to stay in the country was shortsighted at best. It just gives the spouse a better chance of getting citizenship. It used to be pretty automatic, but no longer.

Font - katkatstrat · 18 hr. ago He chose his own course. These are consequences of his own actions. Did you hasten his gf finding out about the affair? Yes, but he's the one that chose to risk everything.

Font - JonJackjon 16 hr. ago If this guy was marrying the girl simply to stay in this country, you saved her heartache. Don't feel bad about doing the right thing.

Font - jasemina8487 · 14 hr. ago . assuming this is happening in US, he cant get citizenship solely by marrying a US citizen anyway. he can surely marry a citizen and then apply for an adjustment of status and greencard, which is already a long process and once he has his greencard he can be eligible to apply citizenship if he was married 3years min starting from the day he was granted greencard.

Font - as is, he wont be deported right away anyway so long he has a valid visa and doesnt exceed the time given for his stay and he surely can apply for a greencard without marrying anyone so while he is kinda in a tougher position, he still has a chance to stay.

Font - Icy_Owl_2538 11 hr. ago That doesn't make you an hole though. Telling sometimes partner he is cheating is the obvious thing to do. Even if you knew it could get him deported, it would still be a logical consequence of what he did. That he would get deported if he couldn't marry might have made the risk of cheating a lot bigger, but that was his choice to make, not yours.
