Most gamers expected Elden Ring to win this year's Game Awards title for Game of the Year, but I think it's safe to say that no one expected FromSoftware's big moment to be hijacked by a random kid, who walked up on stage with Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team and then waited until the last moment to announce "I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton, thank you everybody." One could say the moment was…tarnished.
In hindsight, the young man looks pretty out of place on stage among the team of developers, but at the time, no one even seemed to be aware of his presence (up until the point where he took the mic, of course). Soon after the spectacle occurred, Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley tweeted that the young man had been arrested. An endless deluge of memes soon followed.
