First Pepsi Wants Us to Drink Pilk for the Holidays and Now They're Firing Everybody

If you've been anywhere near a computer, watching TV, or if you've been on the Internet in the last few weeks, you have probably seen one of Pepsi's new holiday ads with Lindsay Lohan promoting their holiday monstrosity called “Pilk”. This unfortunate combo is literally a glass of soda, Pepsi, with a dabble of milk poured over the top of it. Yes, like whole milk. Lindsay Lohan's face must be completely frozen with botox to have hidden her real reaction in the advertisement, because this atrocious mixed drink is definitely not on anybody's Christmas list.

Following the release of the ad, the internet exploded with criticism and people were either outraged or were completely un-phased. Apparently pilk is a thing in some sad, forgotten cities, but to the bulk of the world, milk and Pepsi was never a combination that was meant to be in any cup.

Pilk brought up some angry reactions online, which is not unusual for the brand. Since the 90's Pepsi has been on a massive decline in social opinions and it seems like they can not catch a break on their public image, topping one massive fail after another. The downfall began when Pepsi kicked out Britney Spears as a sponsor in 2001, from there it was all downhill for the blue and red. They tried to bounce back with the Kendall Jenner ad where they tried (and failed) to approach the topic of police brutality. You know what makes me think of ending street violence? The most mid soda you can imagine.

Still having failed at a full recovery from this PR nightmare, now Pepsi is back at it again with freaking pilk. Oh boy. However, in the week since the ad's release, it seems like all of the negativity surrounding this soda and their terrible mixed drinks might be taking its effect on the company. According to reports, they've taken a massive loss and are planning to layoff hundreds of employees and cut back on spending.

Pilk is totally worse than Kendall at this point. Perhaps Pepsi should mind their own business and stop firing delightful pop singers, meddling in social affairs that are COMPLETELY unrelated to cold beverages, and they should definitely stop creating mixed abominations. Using the words of one of the greatest movie characters in all the world, Regina George, “Stop trying to make pilk happen, it's never going to happen.”
