Cabinet installers' viral screw-up demonstrates the extreme power of MRI magnets in the worst way

The video begins with the video creator showing the construction of what appears to be a medical facility, specifically the radiology section.

But as he explains, not everyone is on board with the safety precautions needed to work safely around powerful machines.

So basically, there was a cabinet installer who needed a large piece of equipment to install cabinets on the walls. But he used a metal tool to do so inside room where the oversized magnet, aka the MRI, lives.

The MRI's magnetic pull was so powerful that the cabinet holder was swiftly pulled into the machine's siding…and the machine refuses to let go.

If the magnet “quenched,” it would lose some or all of its magnetic power, which is obviously not ideal. Plus they have to be careful of the helium inside the machine.

No one is strong enough to remove the deeply-impaled tool.

After turning the magnet down, they try to extract it, but it just wouldn't budge.

But after powering down the magnet to be less pull-y, it was, in fact, still being a super-strong magnet. It won't budge!

Powering down the magnet seems to have barely done anything.

Martin even demonstrated himself tugging at the chunk of wood which is stuck in there. It doesn't move a centimeter. MRI - 1, cabinet guy - 0.

Martin remained hopeful that the issue could be resolved. People in the comments had lots of thoughts and suggestions for him, too. Martin also dropped in to answer people's burning questions:

Unfortunately for us, Martin's boss told him to stop making videos about that topic, so we may not get a timely update after all. Maybe someday!

Check out Martin's whole video below to see the MRI drama in action.
