I've worked most genres of minimum wage job in my life, and one of the ones I liked the least was answering phones. Of all the ways to speak to customers, phone call is one of the most degrading ones. There's something about not seeing the face of a customer service representative or salesperson that causes the Karens, jerks, and idiots to really step up their awful behavior.
If there is one benefit to a role that involves taking a lot of calls, it's that you soon learn to develop a thick skin. Also, there's the occasional sense of pride when you get to help somebody nice. The rest of the time, it's simply a case of gritting your teeth and trying to get through the shift. This isn't always the easiest, but at least there are a few memes that understand this. Laughter is the best medicine when the disease is your job.
