Font - So right off the bat I want to say I loved my mom. She was an amazing parent and I owe my life to her. She passed after a car accident a few years ago, and part of me thinks she would actually think this story is funny. With that said... I don't know if this is Karen-esque, but my mom made a life strategy out of trying to guilt people into doing what she wanted. This applied to virtually everyone she met, including restaurant wait staff.

Font - At some point my mom decided she was allergic to onions. She was always vague about what dire consequences would unfold if-God forbid-she came into contact with an onion, but she made it sound like kittens would explode, planets would reverse their rotation, suits would be filed, and/or people would be fired. So when she ordered food at restaurants, she always made a show of asking deep, probing questions about the ingredients and any possible inclusion of onions. She even requested that

Font - One day I was having lunch with my parents and whatever she ordered had visible onions in it. So my mom picked them all out, then scooped them into her her hand and set off to find the server, to whom she handed the fistful of onions. The server seemed very perplexed by being handed a pile of grilled onions, but my mom just walked away without a word.

Font - Another time we were out to dinner and she asked the server if the air conditioning be turned off because she was cold. It was the middle of the summer so the server said it couldn't be turned down for the comfort of the other guests. So...my mom asked to speak to the manager. He agreed to turn it down, but then went about his business without actually adjusting the temperature (my mom was keeping an eye on him to make sure he followed through). So my mom went out to the car and put on an

Perhaps they were a tad entertained behind the eyerolls? My advice would be different if this woman were still alive.

Font - MLIOne 4 days ago I'll admit, I chuckled especially at her parka, duvet and foil blanket effort. My ex MIL was apparently "allergic" to corn, onions and a few other things. So what did I do? Made a soup containing all these thing. She ate it up happily and was not ill in any way afterwards. Had I suspected she was truthful about a real allergy I would not have done that. 20 Reply Share thesteaks_are_high 3 days ago . Worked restaurant for better than a decade. Had people "allergic" to oni

Font - Dreaded Chalupacabra. 4 days ago I love being the chef for the ability to say no, sorry, and actually if it's an allergy I can't serve you because there's cross contamination ALL OVER THIS B with onions. Onions are in literally everything, like what did she eat if she didn't eat onions? No spaghetti, that's for da sure.

Font - trekkiegamer359 . 3 days ago Well, no spaghetti sauce, for sure. But plain spaghetti, or with just butter or olive oil and salt should be fine. That said, cross contamination is definitely a thing, so if a kitchen can't make it without cross contamination, then they simply can't make it. Reply Share 8 OceanPoet13 OP 3 days ago . Let's just say she ate...a lot of onions.

Font - Aggravating-Pin-8845 2 days ago I always hated people who tried to guilt me into things. I am highly stubborn so I would dig my heels in and refuse to budge no matter what. Years ago (I was in my teens) and I got yelled at by a Karen in public, I forget why but I think it was in a Cafe or something like it. She yelled at me for one thing then tried to get me to move my chair. I said no. She kept screaming while I just sat there giving her a blank look. She saw me smirking after a while an

Font - demonette55 - 2 days ago . As a fellow onion hater, I don't claim allergies because I know how difficult it makes things fit the kitchen staff. I just always ask if something has onions and if they can be left out. If not I order something else.
