Hospital Builds A House For A Cat That Frequently Visits And Other Places Where Purrfessional Cats Work (Viral Thread)

Anyone who says that cats are lazy clearly does not know that some cats are true purrfessionals. Their jobs are real. Their jobs are impurrtant. And their jobs are to be respected. Is it even pawssible for you, as a cat person, to not have heard of the following hard working cats? The curious cat who broke into a science lab - because it has things to invent, and that matters. Truffles the amazing cat who works at a children's eye care center and helps kids be unafraid to try on glasses. The iconic bodega cats without whom New York, as a state, would never be the same. All of them are doing very, very impurrtant things. 

And now, we have another purrfesional added to the list. Meet Simba, from Worthing, England, who apparently visits the local hospital on a consistent enough basis for them to have built him a tiny office. His job is to be there, be cute, and make everyone feel generally better with his presence, and he does it purrfectly.

    Quite frankly, we think that this is only appropriate. For someone who does so much good work, who we are sure brings so much joy to the people in the hospital, it only makes sense to recognize him by building him an office. We respect and support the people behind this project.

    Please, oh my god, we want to know so much more about this obviously iconic cat who deserves so much more recognition. We tried to find more info about it and haven't been able to, so if any of our fabulous readers ever sees Simba, please tell us about it!

    Rectangle - crutlefish 1d I too am from Worthing and know people at the hospital who regularly interact with the cat above. To the point where they got their own ginger cat and called it Beans (nickname of Simba before they knew it's name)

Reply 9 syncopant OP. 1d I go every 3 months for routine blood tests and this is the first time he's been in his little house. I was chuffed to bits to find him at home to callers.

They even had a little cat bed for him and everything. I miss that cat more than my ex. ⠀ Reply 3.3k SesamePete 1d Seems like every shop, of every trade, has one or more shop cats. And they're all cool as hell and catch the cat-sized rats that are also around the shop.

    Water - BrownShadow +1.1d Worked at golf courses for years. The shop where we kept all the mowers and did maintenance also had the grass seed and fertilizer. We had a badass shop cat who kept the meeses away. Cat didn't belong to anyone. And I don't recall anybody feeding it. Same with our horse barn growing up. "Barn cats". They lived in the hay loft, and you DID NOT PET THEM.

    Font - Thetechguru_net • 1d My car mechanic has 3 or 4 shop cats. At least one is always in the office, and one is usually near the front door to greet customers as long as the weather is nice. Others may or may not make themselves known while I am there. I have a local stray who has decided the outdoor chair and couches under my gazebo are the best place to spend rainy or snowy days. He runs when I go outside, and someone else is feeding him because he is quite chonky, but it is nice to have a

    Water - him999 +1.1d My former step father had a cat he got when it decided to move in with him and left his old family. Years later the cat did the same to us. He just moved in with someone down the street. He would sometimes visit but he was not a single person's cat apparently. He just moved where he pleased. Once he was over a relationship, he just ghosted you.

    Rectangle - delightfuldylan 1d I had something similar happen. I had 2 cats, 1 of them decided to move in with my neighbor down the street, she's a super nice lady. About a week later a cat was meowing and scratching at my door, when i opened the door the cat jumped in my arms and instantly made himself at home and bonded with my other cat in no time at all. Turns out the cat belonged to the same lady my other cat moved in with. So we traded cats basically.

That dude, affectionately named something intense like TITAN, really lucked out when he found that place. Basically all he does is lounge around and get pets from patrons all day long. Living the dream really.
