Font - I'm in a class where a group research project/presentation is a huge chunk of overall points. Everyone knows in group projects you always have that one slacker who doesn't do anything that you have to compensate for. However, I got stuck with possibly the worst 3 people to be in a project with in the class.

Font - I did the entire research, presentation, poster boards, etc among many other annoying things myself. I tried talking to them and telling them they needed to put in their share of effort. Ignored. I'd send them tasks to do, ignored. I'd try to schedule meetings, they'd say they were coming and then leave me alone at the library. This happened from the get go. It was abundantly clear that they expected everyone else to do the work, but "everyone else" turned out to be just me.

Font - Rule: we couldn't have things 100% memorized word for word, and we couldn't read off of anything. We had to actually know the subject. I was fully prepared to do most of the talking and even wrote down a small script for them and told them to know what to say during their part, at the very least. The night before I told them we had to meet to at least go over the whole thing one time. Once again, none of them showed.

Font - ***edited to say: the professor stated at the beginning that we were not allowed to contact him about people slacking in the group, and said to work it out amongst ourselves. Said that we were adults and that he wouldn't even respond to emails about it.

Font - Demotic Pedestrian I had a group project last semester and only 2 other people (out of 7) would respond to communication or show up to meetings. We had one rehearsal the day before presentation and I was worried the 4 people didn't do their part or wouldn't show. They all showed up, with their parts ready. Turns out they just really sucked at communicating. It was a relief but I was also annoyed that they had me so stressed, lol.

Font - Benny92739 I kind of had one like that. One dude legit never responded to anything in our group of 4 which is fine usually but we had to present in front of the class for 30 min. Me and one other member did his whole part for him we just needed him to present it somewhat decently or our grade would suck. Dude turned out to be an amazing presenter. Still sucked we had to do his part, but at least he cared enough to properly understand his part were he could present it well and field questi

Font - AegnorWildcat Did you end up presenting in his office later? Did he say anything about their attempt? 314 Reply Share grapeicecreamfloat OP I presented yesterday, he just told me good job and didn't mention their efforts

Font - [deleted] Had the exact opposite happen to me once. I was in a group with 2 girls and a guy. The project was done over an entire semester and presented in parts. The breakdown is we pick a country and explore birth, death, and migration rates, as well as the country's economic status and how this affects said rates. The chicks and I did our parts to the best of our ability. The dude pulled no-show moves at every turn: didn't have a sitter, didn't have a ride, etc. So, we went on without h

Font - feckinghound I had lecturers at uni that made us work in Google docs and send them the links so they could see when people were on, what they edited and how much they contributed. It was amazing to see people called out for lack of effort without us feeling the need to chase them up!

Font - Okapi_MyKapi Did this exact same thing in college. Two of us did the work, two others decided to not participate every step of the way. Day of the presentation comes, the two slackers got up to present with us, and the professor told them to sit down. I had emailed her two days before the class and forwarded to her all the communication (or lack thereof) between myself & the two slackers. She gave them a week to come up with their own presentation. They still bombed, and I wore a huge gri

Font - cobainbc15 I've been burned on so many group projects back in college that this post fills me with quite a bit of satisfaction...

Font - Questions: 1. Did you inform your professor about their behaviour? 2. How did they react? I expect that they blamed you in some way :D 422 Reply Share grapeicecreamfloat OP He told us that we weren't allowed to complain to him about people not pulling their weight, that we're adults and to work it out ourselves. Which I tried to do. I think one of them dropped the class, haven't talked to the other 2 and don't plan on it lol

Font - zedubya Now this is some fire petty revenge. Good job, especially with the tire receipt. I don't know what you scored on your pres but you deserve and A+ for this situation.

Font - wildtaylorberry The worst college project I have had ended satisfyingly well. Half of us got a grade that reflected our work and the others got a lower grade. Because one of the guys in the group was a grade A a and the professor didn't want us to have to explain how we went and talked to him about said member, he told us not to discuss the grades. We had to pretend we got a low grade too, but it meant fair grades and no confrontation.

Font - bigtips A happier story. M.E. at UNO - we had to design and make a scale that was accurate regardless of where the load was on the top plate. I was pretty good at statics, so I did the design. My partner f welded up a full scale prototype without telling anyone he was doing it. It worked perfectly. Never saw him again after that class but I'll never forget it.

Font - Niadain Thats great. I ended up bombing an entire course to spite the jacka es I got partnered up with. Same deal. Bunch of group members and I was the only one doing anything. Just said fit, im not doing everything. Did my share, presentation day comes up. We get up there and I produce my stuff. THen look at the rest "Wheres the rest of our project?" The whole group of us flunked for it. F em. Cost me a few grand. At the time it was worth it. Not now lol.

Font - p2kart I had a similar experience, where I just sucked it up since i didnt want to fail. I pretty much did 100% of the work and was talking most of the time in the presentation. This was immediately noticed by my instructor who started asking my team mates specific questions about the project, it was immediately apparant that they didnt know anything and couldnt even answer the simplest of questions. He then started questioning which sections they worked on which they lied, and a few more
