Product - r/cats u/dcpl_ 19h 1 Join 1 The vet found a bullet in my cat's chest and I'm livid. Info in comments. Adoption that the vet took out her chest area (around a year old)

We cannot imagine how livid we would be as well. But more than anything, reading this story, we are just thankful that you found this sweet girl, took her in, and paid enough attention to her to see this and take care of it. And we're even happier to know that you adopted her. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Font - dcpl_ OP • 19h 3 Awards 3 weeks ago I started fostering this beauty. She's had a tough life, she lived on the streets for around 13 years according to the people of the neighbourhood. She was in a foster home for 8 months before coming to me, but wasn't getting along with the other cats so I took her in. I fell in love instantly with the sassy lady, and decided to go for full adoption. Part of the process here is a routine vet check up - I had noticed a small lump on her chest I asked the

Our only hope now is that people will read this story and take away the correct message: take care of your cats, keep an eye on them, keep an eye on their health, and if you see a cat in need that is not yours, please still help them. You may just save their life.

Font - bilowik 16h This is why I keep all my cats indoors now, hear about this way too often, it takes an actual sociopath to shoot someone's cat with a pellet gun, child or not.

Font - DemendredCo +3 19h Glad you were able to save her. There are some real evil people in the world, to shoot a cat like that. I'm glad there are people like you out there.

Smile - dnuohxof-1 There's times I feel guilty about not letting my kitties out to enjoy the outdoors. Then I see posts like this and remind myself this is why I keep them inside. People are cruel and will not think twice about harming a "stray" cat. I'd go John wick on any punk that hurt my cats, +1 10h

Rectangle - LilithRamona66 • 18h Someone shot my beautiful orange girl with a pellet gun when I was younger. I lived in rural Texas so people would often shoot cats just for fun. I never found out who did it but man oh man I'd still kick their ass if I ever found out who it was. I don't understand people like that

Rectangle - Kegomatix 15h I have a pellet rifle that shoots similar rounds. It's very nearly a 22 caliber and is literally made to kill small game (not that I use it for that). These rounds can absolutely kill a cat. Trash human 100%. EDIT: To clarify, I'm not implying it's nearly as powerful as a .22, just that the caliber is not far off.

Font - cauldron_bubble • 14h Some punk kids were throwing rocks into my backyard at my cat years ago, and I hopped the wire fence like a crazy woman, (they weren't expecting that), and chased them through the construction site behind the row of houses; then I thought, "What exactly am I going to do if I catch even one of them? Beat them up? Catch charges for abusing children?".. So I just grabbed a handful of rocks from the construction site and pelted them at the kids, yelling "Don't let me cat

Rectangle - I had to avenge my cat friend! I never let him out into the backyard without supervision again, and never saw those kids again; I can't stand people who think it's funny to pick on animals, and I don't care if they're just kids; they should know better. I'd like to think that my cat was proud of me(?) Probably not; all he cared about when I got back was the nice brushing and the treats he got afterwards lol!

Organism - Bayoitsjo 16h It's insane the cat hate culture in some areas. I have a distant uncle who loves dogs and gets that relationship but somehow sees cats as little more than pests and shoots them if they come into his yard. I grew up in a rural area where it was a relatively common sentiment, it's very upsetting. It's so fucked up but I feel like hating cats for no reason is so normalized that hating them enough to not even flinch about shooting them is an unfortunate extension of that. Po

Font - Daetok_Lochannis My homie has a little tripod named Roxie; someone in his trailer park shot her and the bullet smashed the bones so bad she had to have a leg amputated. Never did catch the person but his cats don't get to enjoy the outside anymore. There are some people in this world who are absolute worthless trash and nothing can ever redeem them; people who hurt cats are on that list. +2.19h Edit: to be clear I don't let my own cats outside but the only reason is because human beings h
