Adopting a cat is never the easiest thing in the world. They'll always come with challenges. And that's especially true whenever you adopt a feral cat that lived most of its life on the street. Feral cats take a long time to adjust, to trust their humans, to relax and allow themselves to be playful. Taking on a feral cat is something very praise-worthy in our opinions because of the challenges they come with. Still, normally, they're similar stories, similar difficulties. Not in today's story. The cat we're talking about today is a stray who thankfully got rescued by incredibly kind and loving people, because it turns out that she has been living with a pellet in her chest for at least a year.
Now, this is not the first time we have seen a vet find something unexpected inside of a cat, but it is the first time that we have been so horrified by it. We're happy to report that the kitty is now fine - that the bullet did not do too much damage, and that she has since been adopted by the person who rescued her. So, an overall happy ending, thank goodness.
We cannot imagine how livid we would be as well. But more than anything, reading this story, we are just thankful that you found this sweet girl, took her in, and paid enough attention to her to see this and take care of it. And we're even happier to know that you adopted her. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
Our only hope now is that people will read this story and take away the correct message: take care of your cats, keep an eye on them, keep an eye on their health, and if you see a cat in need that is not yours, please still help them. You may just save their life.
