Unfortunately, these pranks make up the minority of the pranks we've seen online in the last decade, with “prank channels" on social media and video hosting sites netting millions of views for dangerous, inappropriate, sometimes harmful acts against the unwitting participants. This has likely given rise to idiots seeking to imitate these acts for clout online or simply to up their own self-esteem.
Enter: this idiot — who thought it would be funny to “prank” someone who was looking for their lost dog by calling them and imitating barking noises. The target of the “prank” got even with them by pettily signing them up for every telemarketing service they could and then shared their story to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit.
