You know that classic scenario where a couple fights about something stupid but there's a lot of larger meaning attached to it? Yeah, well. That's definitely what was going on here.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/d_frost, who opened up about a former girlfriend with whom he lived after a period of long distance. They thought that doing long distance was the source of much of their fighting. but as soon as they moved in together and were finally living in the same state, things only got worse.
The conflict came to a head when she exploded at the Redditor for accidentally forgetting to put the toilet seat back down when he was finished, which, granted, needed to be said but perhaps not in such a confrontational manner. His response, though, led to some petty malicious compliance that may not have been necessary, but hey, the relationship was already falling apart.
