Font - I am a relatively new intern at my workplace for a small business, and the parking lot is small. Like 10 spaces including a handicap spot. There are 5 of us at the office, and the 3 women usually park next to each other on one side. Before, my boss and I would park next to each other on the other side.

Font - Recently, my boss was leaving the office towards the end of the day and didn't pay attention. He turned immediately as he backed out of his parking spot, and his truck swiped and dented the passenger side of my car. He came back inside while I was still working to apologize and tell me. We went outside to observe the damage.

Font - Now, this is a REALLY, REALLY nice sports car that I saved up a long time for. I had every right then and there to tell him off for being careless. However, I kept calm and asked him for his insurance card while I went into my phone to get my digital copy. Eventually, we worked things out with his insurance, and I'm set to go to a local car repair center.

Font - This past week, he noticed that I started parking on the far end parking spot of our side rather than parking next to him like usual. Obviously to me, I'd want to avoid the risk of getting further damage now that this happened. At a morning meeting this week, he joked about me being scared of parking next to him now. I told him that I was rightfully paranoid about parking next to people now. I guess he wanted to make light of the situation since I had told him after the accident, "It's fi

Font - Now here's the AITA part: This morning, I parked in my new spot and headed towards the office entrance. As I approached the door, he opened it and told me I can't be parking at that spot because that end is meant for visiting clients. That was weird to me because there were 3 spaces between our vehicles, but whatever. He then said, "Just park next to me. I promise I won't hit it. Heh." As he turned around to go back to his office, I flatly said, "No, I don't trust you [boss name]." He imm

Font - So am I the a e? Note: My boss is usually a helpful guy. I don't know where that came from. Maybe he has bottled anger management issues that leak out sometimes. I say that because I have anger management issues too, but I was surprisingly calm throughout the whole ordeal. Anyways, I found that writing all this out was cathartic in a way and helped me self- evaluate where I stood in all this.

Font - Sh anneejane Parta ant [4] NTA. Were there ways you could have handled this differently? Yeah, sure, maybe, but there's nothing wrong with you being protective over something that you saved up for. "I don't trust you" is a HEAVY comment, though. For the sake of office etiquette, I do recommend you shoot your boss an email along the lines of "hey, I misspoke when I said I don't trust you. My car means a lot to me and I've been parking far away from everyone because I'm being overly cautiou

Font - FabulousLikeHer OP I do like your email suggestion. We get along fine normally, and he was over it by lunch time. We had a pizza party for one of the women's birthday, so everyone was in a good mood. Like I said, he just snapped at that moment and that internally took me by surprise. I have to go into the office tomorrow to finish up some paperwork from today, so I'll send him an email tomorrow morning.

Font - YMMV-But Ctain [177] This was very immature on your part. If you already know that you come across as rude, this wasn't a smart thing to say. Do you think you're never going to have an accident while you're driving? It sure sounds like it. It wasn't a smart move to tell your boss or any coworker that you don't trust them after they have done everything required to make things right. If I were your boss, I would remember this incident if you ever asked for a reference. I would not write a
