You can always judge the strength of someone's character by their willingness to accept, acknowledge, and correct their own mistakes. Similarly, a manager blaming their worker for organizational failure above the worker's pay grade says much about their leadership.
It's completely fair for a worker to expect that everything is taken care of when they have followed the instructed process. Reprimanding that worker—via poorly structured text messages—for the ensuing lack of communication between the management team is toxic—at best.
That's what happened to a worker, Redditor u/aurarasburst, when they requested time off on Easter to spend time with family. They didn't attend work after talking to one of their managers and submitting for the leave, only to receive messages on the day of from another manager asking why they hadn't come to work.
They shared their experience to Reddit's popular r/antiwork subreddit, telling of how their manager had reprimanded them and sharing screenshots of the text exchange with their boss. They explained how they had followed the process they had been trained to follow but were still written up for not attending work.
Readers shared their thoughts in the comments, urging the poster to look for work elsewhere. The poster responded to some of these, saying that they were currently looking for work elsewhere.
