It might surprise many people that my favorite frog muppet is not Kermit The Frog. After all, he is the most famous frog in the muppet cast and possibly the most famous frog in the world. More cultured muppet fans might know that the best frog in the cast is not the sarcastic leader but his soft-spoken nephew, Robin. Robin famously played Tiny Tim in The Muppet Christmas Carol, but he's been dazzling muppet productions for decades with his sweet and innocent personality.
Robin may be the nepotism baby of The Muppet Show, but I'll give him a pass on that. The muppets needed a child actor, and he's a perfect fit. If you were to watch any Robin performance, I would highly recommend his rendition of "Halfway Down The Stairs" from the first season of The Muppets Show. Never has a frog before or since given a song about the wistfulness of growing up so much life.
