Spice levels are one of those food preferences that feel like they say a lot about a person. Not all meals need to be spicy, but there are plenty that truly benefit from the added kick. I'm no hardcore heat masochist, but hot sauce and chili do feature quite liberally in quite a few of the things that I eat and cook for myself.
Although I know I'm not alone in this, it's not a universal instinct. There are millions out there who can't think of anything worse than a dash of spice, such as @micsolana. In a move that had the ability to insult the cuisine of several continents, he denounced spicy food as 'so stupid' and as the culprit behind making meals a lot less pleasant to eat.
While a couple of people were inclined to agree with him, many more were ready and waiting to break down his sweeping analysis. There's a whole science behind why spice can be enjoyable, y'know.
