Older adults always have something to say about what young people are wearing. When I was 15, I went on a school trip alone with my yearbook teacher and a small group of parents and kids. This was during an era when overalls were coming back into fashion, and I wore my favorite pair of overalls for several days of this trip. The amount of slack I got from other kids' parents for wearing jeans with holes in them was monumental. It was true that my overalls had one giant hole in one of the legs that had grown over time, but these random parents didn't have to rag on me about it for days on end.
Criticizing people's clothes to their faces doesn't stop when you become an adult. Old people have so much to say about short shorts and crop tops; they will tell you exactly what they think.
