'CUT IT IN HALF!': Coffee shop Karen gets her wish after making rude demand
Fighting back the urge to laugh when an adult is having a full-blown meltdown right in front of you over basically nothing is one of the most challenging parts of working retail—but you only reach this level of reaction when you've put up with it enough times that you no longer have the ability to experience the trauma of being shouted at that you did when you first started.
Not only that but—when they're making obscene demands—you have to fight every muscle in your body that wants to do precisely what they are asking you to do but in the most malicious way possible. Well, this barista lost that battle with themselves and decided to do exactly what this deranged coffee shop Karen was screaming at them to do.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by the barista, Reddit user u/obiwan_jenobi. Who shared their story of delightfully petty malicious compliance to the popular subreddit.
Now, the story might end with an "and everyone clapped," but if you work retail, you will genuinely witness situations like this in real life where the other customers are so astounded by the screaming person that they intervene or find some other way of putting the insane individual in their place such as clapping at their demise. So my head-canon is going to be that this one is true.
