It's normal to be embarrassed by your parents. There comes a time in every tween's life when nothing your parents do won't be embarrassing. You could be walking through the store with your mom, who drove you there, and get embarrassed because you're 13 and shopping with your mom. 13-year-olds know that everybody knows that their mom drove them to the store, but that doesn't stop the experience of seeing Michelle from 5th-period English classes any less humiliating.
I feel like embarrassing your tween (which is impossible to not do) and embarrassing your young child on social media are completely different things. So many moms and dads post deeply personal information about their kids, their medical history, and their emotional struggles to strangers without thinking twice about it. This is especially bad when a kid is too young to know this is happening, and they find out later when this information has already been online for years. If you support embarrassing your tween by existing but not the latter, these cringey parenting posts might strike a cord.
