Cats are never named something normal. Unlike their canine counterparts who are called Douglas, Winston, or Murphy, cats are doomed to be named after things that are significantly less dignified. Although cats are notoriously named after the first thing you see on your kitchen counter or perhaps they're named after the last thing you ate, cats retain their prowess with their natural cattitude and their feline feistiness– but it certainly is tough to do so when they're called "Nacho Cheese" or "Possum".
One woman named Ashley recent found herself rolling on the floor laughing when she scrolled her local Petfinder app, an adoption website designed to pair you with local animal shelters and animals that need a new home nearby. Despite knowing that cats are often named after something silly (her very own black cat is named Salem like the black cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Ashley was baffled by the extreme silliness of the local cattos, but still found herself desperately trying to bring them all home.
