Every so often you apply for a job and the interview is far from what was advertised. We've all been there. You read false promises on the LinkedIn job posting like "unlimited PTO" and "fully remote" until you learn that this is only an exception for certain employees, and you wouldn't be one of those employees. However, this scenario was far more surprising and upsetting.
This Redditor prepared to show up for what he thought was a one-on-one interview. He got dressed up, made the commute, and showed up to the offices, only to find a group of 50 candidates there. That's right: it was a group interview, and clearly, it wasn't a small one. Throughout the interview, candidates were encouraged to individually talk about their backgrounds and why they were more qualified for the position than the next person. It truly puts the job search process in perspective, doesn't it?
It didn't take long for OP to admit to himself that this was not the kind of working environment he wanted to be a part of, so he went for a little self-sabotage in order to wipe the smug look off the arrogant general manager's face. When it was his turn to speak, he boldly referred to the most Hot Rod and declared, "My name is Alex and I like to party." That certainly took him out of consideration. How would you self-sabotage your own interview if that was your goal?
