A while back, I saw a TikTok that blew my mind. It was explaining all the different parts of the world that common houseplants come from. Turns out many of these leafy critters sitting on our windowsills have exotic roots. I probably should have realized this from the fact I don't see most of them in my local park, but it was interesting nonetheless.
Although not everybody is cut out to be a plant parent, I do feel like a touch of greenery is one of those things that makes a house a home. I'm not the perfect gardener, but it cheers me up to see a few relatively un-wilted plants in my living space. A lot of people feel the same, which is why there are numerous memes on the topic. Having house plants isn't just a quirky millennial affectation, it's a dedicated lifestyle. After all, some types will die at the drop of a hat.
