Most parents teach their children about having respect for other people, but occasionally, you'll come across one or two who refuse to acknowledge that their kids need to learn a lesson. It's as if they are some untouchable species that could never do anything even remotely annoying or entitled or inappropriate. But we all know that kids can be all of those things. In fact, they are likely to lean into those qualities if no one calls them out, and it's preferable that their parents should be the ones to do just that.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by u/RegexIsEasy, who claims that he didn't even intend to get even with this family, and yet, he very much did. His neighbor's kids were howling in the middle of the night repeatedly, and OP had made numerous polite requests to ensure that the parents would quiet them down. Of course, they never did. However, once OP was gifted a high tech sound system for his birthday, he impulsively decided to play loud rock music at 2:30 in the morning. He claims this was "accidental," but we wouldn't fault him if it were on purpose. His neighbors (and the kids especially) clearly deserved a taste of their own medicine, and by that point, it was the only way to get them to keep their mouths shut at night.
