Font - Posted by u/TinyTurnips I was just screamed at for not fixing something I already fixed a month ago... Yeah I don't understand it either. I am a higher-level government employee with nearly 18 years of service (sorry folks the but doesn't stop no matter where you go). My boss just stormed into my office and yelled at me to "MAKE THIS YOUR PRIOTIY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, YOU AREN'T GOING HOME UNTIL IT'S FIXED!!! NO ONE CAN USE IT!!!" Loud enough that a bunch of other employees snapped the

Font - I informed her quite sternly I fixed that sover a month ago and I have receipts of the emails I sent stating it was done and not one person has approached me to state it failed again or anything related to it. I asked who needed it or asked about it to bring this level of attention to it? No answer, of course. Just screaming to scream.

Font - Got my a ripped for something I fixed over a month ago and have heard no complaints since. I am so fOng confused. I even went down to that office afterwards to verify and not one person had a clue who would have complained about it since none of them have. These are dudes I have known for 5+ years, if they were the ones to complain they would have come to me first anyway. Don't go IT folks.

Font - shapeofthings Never let anyone scream at you. Reply calmly this is unprofessional and unacceptable. I am your colleague and not a dog, please go away and come back when you have calmed down and are prepared to discuss this calmly like adults. 522 Reply Share nerdiotic-pervert Too many people let their bosses treat them like children, or dogs as you mentioned. No one on this green earth, except maybe your dad and only up to a certain age, has the right to yell at you like they own you. 148

Font - uncool4skool I've worked in IT my whole career and I've definitely had moments of being called out for so I already fixed. Usually it's because my boss's boss was putting pressure on them, either because the ticket wasn't closed "correctly" (usually some dumb technicality) or they themselves tried to use the thing I fixed, and didn't use it correctly. That said, I work for the government now and it's been leaps and bounds better than every job I've had in the private sector. I'm so sorry

Font - TinyTurnips OP Already on the resume thing my friend. Trying desperately for a remote position. I live in a very rural area and physical jobs are near impossible to find at my level. I would leave the state but my children are here and I just can't bring myself to be out of their life more than just the normal weekdays already. It's a long and stupid story but I am legit trapped unless I find something remote. 48 Reply Share

Font - sjclynn Years ago I was the site IT manager for a tech company. This was one of about 4 sites in the area. My manager was at another location several states away. He got wind of some dissatisfaction and started a mission of discovery. I learned of this in a major dressing down in my office. No screaming or yelling, but no details other than people are very unhappy and you (I) need to get it fixed. I didn't have a lot of luck largely because the accusations were not specific.

Font - He was back a few weeks later unhappy that he was still getting complains and that I was obviously, not taking it seriously and had not rectified it. To add to the fun he arranged a meeting with a development VP and a couple of directors so that I could hear first hand how seriously I was messing up and how bad this was making him look.

Font - He started the meeting by apologizing for the for the mess that I had obviously made and promised immediate resolution. It took an interesting turn when one of the directors asked why I was being held accountable, in fact, why was I there? He really should have taken the hint but went on about all of the problems that users A, B, C, had reported. The VP who was known as the dragon lady, piped up at that moment. "Yes, there are a lot of problems, but they are when my people are at, or usin
