HR sent me a harsh reprimand over basic onboarding questions before my Day 1. Is this a major red flag or just a power trip?

Is it really worth being petty? It depends on whether he desperately needs the job. He won’t be working with Human Resources, so he can ask for the forgotten attachments while being apologetic, and they will likely feel shame but not confess it; it’s a win-win situation. It would be an example of somewhat malicious compliance. If he really isn’t fit for the job later on, he can always quit!
