This worker landed themself a new job, working remotely, that offered them higher pay and greater responsibility. They found themself with little to do initially, which they found to be a little strange, but seeing as this isn't uncommon in a lot of jobs, which often allow workers to ease into their role, leaving additional tasks to be picked up as the worker gets into the swing of things.
Still, two months on, they still found themselves without any of the significant tasks or responsibilities that they were led to believe they would have during the interview process. They had several meetings but still no real tasks, instead attempting to fill in their own time as best as possible.
At two and a half months in, they finally started to grow tired, instead filling in their time doing tasks around the house with no one in their organization noticing or caring. They still attempted to get things to do but continued to be brushed off.
They turned to a popular online workplace community to tell their story and get community member's opinions and advice as to what they should do, querying as to whether or not they should just see how long this can go on for and collect a paycheck or whether they should take more drastic measures to get some actual tasks.
See how things played out in the screenshots of the original thread below.
