These police officers thought they had the perfect plan to curb fast drivers in their community. They didn't expect u/PocketMoriarties and their neighbors to comply very, very well with the law.
We all know speeding is bad and we should not do it, but in reality, it's hard to go the exact speed limit 100% of the time. There are other things to pay close attention to, like cars in the rear view mirror, and changing the radio station when commercials come on. Plus, the conventional wisdom I was told was that while you're on the highway, it's safest to go the same speed as the other cars. If all the cars are going 65 in a 55, it's supposedly safer to match their slightly elevated speed.
Now, police officers won't see it that way. They can pull you over for basically reason, even for going 46 in a 45. This dude had an unfortunate run in with the local PD, and they got to see the police despise ever implementing their new neighborhood speed limit restricts.
Next up, check out these strange and impractical DIY projects that never should've been created---like one dude who invented a "duct tape and chain mail frisbee."
