Font - Gotta respect the speed limit. S OC I live on a long, long, hilly rural road. It has a 45mph speed limit and is a no-passing zone the entire way. It's illegal, unsafe, and nearly impossible to pass someone, no matter how slowly they're going.

Font - Because it's a quiet road and away the town, locals will normally drive 50-55mph. This was fine, until the police started setting speed traps. Because the road is so hilly, it's easy to accidentally go 55mph when going downhill -- this is how they got me, and a lot of my neighbors.

Font - Ok, fine. It is technically speeding. But I leave work around the time they start heading back home, so I either see them fly ahead of me at 60mph or tailgate me the entire way home. It pl me off.

Font - So I started driving the speed limit. Exactly the speed limit. 45mph down the entire stretch of road. When we come to those sharp turns, I go aaaall the way down to the 20mph suggested speed.

Font - Almost every night, a cop gets stuck behind me the entire way, and there's no way for them to pass me. They also can't turn on another road, because all the others are just gravel backroads that lead to farms. My long, long, hilly road is their only route.

Font - It definitely pi them off. They will turn their brights on and weave around their lane to try and get me to speed up. As soon as I turn onto my driveway, they gun it. I've even had one turn his lights on to make me pull over, only for him to speed past me and drive ahead.

Plant - It's probably not smart to inconvenience a cop, but what else am I supposed to do? I'm just respecting the speed limit.

Font - puterTDI Turning on their lights when not responding to an emergency is illegal. If you really wanted to up things, get a dashcam and record that activity, then send the video in.

Font - giraffewoman I had the same thing happen to me in a construction zone - where the cops here will 100% hit you with a fine if you're going over the speed limit at all. I stuck to the reduce speed, a cop came up behind me and turned on their lights, I had a panic attack pulling over frantically trying to figure out what I could have done....and they zoomed around me and immediately turned off their lights. This was years ago but I'm still miffed.

Font - unholy0079 I recall this behavior when I first started driving as a teenager, the local PD would tailgate me so I would speed up and get a ticket. Eventually I started just pulling over when I saw them coming. If they ever stopped to ask me why, I'd tell them "you looked like you were in a hurry, so I got out of your way." 25 years later I get a sports car and it begins again. I need to get a front/rear dashcam. I still just pull over. Not worth the hassle.

Font - TommyBoyFL Next time the cop is tailgating and flashing his high beams call 911 and report an aggressive driver is tailgating and flashing his high beams.

Font - While everyone is saying get a dashcam they are forgetting one teeny tiny detail. It NEEDS to have ACURATE GPS based Speed saved to the video. otherwise they will just say you were driving too slowing

Font - calicomonkey My father is a retired UPS driver and he used to absolutely adore when someone would start tailgating him when he was going the speed limit. He'd start slowing down further and further and absolutely did not car how much fuss the other driver would make.
