It's so hard to get a full night's sleep in our day and age. If you work full time, or have a service industry or healthcare job that wakes you up early or keeps you up late, catching a full eight is near impossible to do every night. And if you have kids, fuggedaboutit. I prioritize sleep when I can and I'm still often catching up on weekends. But there's something fun about the state you enter when your Z's have not been caught. Remember at sleepovers when you would pull an all-nighter giggling and making crank calls? There would often come a point in the evening when everything started getting extra goofy. Your emotional state gets ratcheted up to a 10 and you almost wet yourself at the stupidest jokes.
That's the feeling the subreddit r/3amjokes is chasing, and we love them for it. It's celebrating our basest, most nonsensical giggles for when we're at our sleepiest.
