The urge to escape to a different planet is a strong one. If things are getting a little hairy here on Earth (which is often the case), the thought of being able to blast off to start afresh is tempting beyond belief. That's why we have so many stories about alternate worlds, because we love to imagine starting over.

If I were to start over on a new planet, here's what I would do: I'd take all my closest friends, my family, and a whole slew of dogs. I'd set up shop in little pods with oxygen and good vibes, build a greenhouse to supply all the fresh produce we need, and breed dogs so that there would eventually be more dogs than humans. Then they could run things the way they wanted to. It's really an opportunity for them, not for us… just to see what it would be like if dogs had their own planet. That's my world building dream.
