'I think I did better than expected': Boss instructs deaf employee to transcribe a tape, cue employee's malicious compliance

When the boss tells you to "figure it out" in a certain tone of voice, you know they mean business. Sometimes as an employee, it's your role to figure out how to do something, no matter what. If the task must get done today, so be it!

Having a "figure it out at any cost" mentality takes time to develop, and it may even sharpen your malicious compliance skills. Being under pressure like that is stressful in the moment, but it's a great life skill to have. If you're the person who figure out how to navigate even the most impossible situations, that makes you very valuable in the workforce. Plus, figuring out how to accomplish the impossible is a great ego boost.

This boss in particular had a task for his employee that they literally couldn't do. Instead of giving their worker literally any other task, he insisted that they must do this one, and that it was mandatory. Clearly, this dude was not thinking straight. At best, he was impolite, and at worst, he definitely needed a good long talk with human resources about being tactful and respectful of all employees.
