So a couple months ago I got terminated from my job. I was given no explanation as to why I was fired. I was just told to come into the office to return the company phone and get my last pay check.

So here is what happened. I was given my last check but didn't look at it until I got home. Not only was there no pay stub but my 30 hrs of vacation pay were also missing. After a week of my company not returning my phone calls,

or giving me any sort of explanation, I filed a complaint with the labor board. About 6 weeks later, I heard from a former coworker of mine that my supervisor was terminated, along with a couple other people. It

turns out that what happened was the controller discovered that he had been taking the money that the owner had set aside for employee raises, and pocketed it. He told the higher ups that he had been giving raises when he wasn't. He never

even gave us bonuses. Anyhow, from what I understand, the investigation started taking place after they were contacted by the labor board. I always say,

what goes around comes around....He was incredibly rude and unprofessional in the way he fired me, and I'm glad he got what was coming to him.

jedimaniac 18 hr. ago Sounds to me like what your former supervisor did was fraudulent to me. He will be lucky if fired is the only thing that happens to him. Some people do jail time for that kind of it.

Stargazer_0101. 14 hr. ago You should contact the HR department to get a copy of the pay stub. That way you have documented sick and vacation information to make sure you are fully paid on those days you did not take.

Consistent_Bad_9713. 11 hr. ago I know this sounds nuts but this is how my old job did things. The last Christmas I was there, they gave our Christmas bonuses to the supervisor and he was supposed to distribute them. Well, we all ended up getting a $20 gift card while he pocketed the rest. That's when I quit

CaliCloudburst OP 5 hr. ago Well I'm certain he's going to have an extremely difficult time finding another job, especially when the companies he applies to find out he was let go for fraud

Mammoth-Pain-358 4 hr. ago When I was made a manager at my last job, before I retired, we had a meeting with upper management and one thing they told us is you never want to have to deal with the labor board. If there's any doubt about anything, pay, overtime, PTO etc. contact HR and let them handle it.

That_Molasses_507 - 1 hr. ago This is unacceptable behavior and based on your post, his actions were likely discovered by the Controller and not the Labor Board. If this was a job you enjoyed, circle back with management to discuss the terms of your dismissal. That decision

might have been made only by your Supervisor and there might be a chance of reinstatement. I will note this; I don't see how it's possible for a Supervisor to pocket or redistribute bonuses or raises to himself unless these transactions were in cash, or he had access to the books and was able to write salary checks.
