Cringe is a rite of passage. If you're a tween/teenager and you're not a little bit cringe, you're doing it wrong. At that age, you're perhaps thinking critically for the first time, seeing the world for what it is, and figuring out that yes, we do live in a society. I remember being 14 and thinking that I was the only person who's ever had a deep thought. I spent so much time staring out the window on the school bus, traveling deep inside my mind palace and thinking about how nobody else could possibly understand. Yes, I eventually grew up and realized that everyone's on their own journey, and we're all our own main characters, but I'm grateful for the cringe teen version of myself that did a lot of good introspection.
