Once you hit 10, 20, or even 30 years of experience in your field, you become more marketable in the job market. So, if you happen to you find yourself not being treated right despite your extensive loyalty to an employer, there's a good chance that there are other employers out there that will appreciate your skills and dedication.
From an employer's perspective, retaining employees for as long as possible is crucial. Long-term employees tend to excel at their jobs, which then contributes to the company's growth and success. High employee turnover makes it a lot harder to grow the company to new levels, as constant recruitment and training can slow down or stall progress.
