We're silently judging each other all the time. Like it or not, it's a part of being human. Most of the time, these are calculated judgments, and they're made for good reason in order to avoid conflict and preemptively determine whether or not it is a good idea to broach particular topics of conversation with the person you're talking to—like deciding whether or not a political conversation is appropriate at your family's Christmas gathering. Even the most tolerant saint-like individuals among us, who haven't ever intentionally passed judgment on someone for how they look or act, are making subconscious judgments about the people they meet all the time.

This sales associate made a huge mistake in judging the original poster of this story when they first visited the designer clothing store where the associate worked. Because the original poster didn't dress the part of the store's usual clientele, the sales associate chose to ignore them, essentially refusing them service. So, the original poster waited until another associate was working to complete their purchase, robbing the sales associate of commission.
