[OK] I got fired over TikTok allegations. I, 23f, got fired over allegations made against me saying i made tiktok videos with patients.
  • 03
Context: I work nightshift in an in-patient psychiatric hospital with juveniles. I was called in for a "emergency meeting" with my supervisors before my shift on a monday night, which then they changed to after my shift the next morning (tuesday morning) at 8am (i get off at 7:30am). in the meeting, they told me i wasnt suppose to work monday night due to being suspended...
  • 04
i told them i was unaware that i was suspended and even so unaware of the reason and that my job was in any kind of jeopardy. they told me that 2 allegations were made against me by a co-worker (who i don't even work the same shift with) said that (1) i was making tiktok videos with patients, and (2) i was twerking and dancing inappropriately in these videos. i

gave my supervisors my phone to look thru my tiktok page (public and private content) and when they saw that there was no indication that i was doing whatever the allegations said i was, they cleared me to return to work, which was later that evening (tuesday night), and "lifted" my suspension.

i go to work the following evening, do my job, and also send a follow-up email to HR, and the supervisors that attended the meeting of the topics discussed and key points, plus a courtesy warning that i applied to a different department and requesting a transfer to a different department that was out of my chain of command.. and that's

when it hit the fan. i get off work on wednesday at 7am, go home & am asleep before 8am. my phone automatically goes to DND at 8am. at 430pm when i wake up, i wake up with numerous missed calls and texts from my supervisors telling me to come in for a 11am meeting (i was sleeping and

didn't respond). When i did not respond nor text back because i was sleeping, i was removed from the schedule for the month of december & january with no concrete reason. they demanded a meeting with me asap which took place the next day (thursday afternoon) and then TERMINATED ME.

the reason was unclear but they kept saying the "build up" to the moment and "other things." I have been with the company for over a year & have only 1 write up and it was for attendance.

now i ask if this is legal because two weeks go by, and i did not receive my paycheck. i took a sign-on bonus that would require me to work at the hospital for at least 2 years. ive tried to email HR requesting

answers, even attempt to use my hospital credentials to access my HR portal and the system has completely locked me out and denied my access. HR, my former supervisors, are not responding and i don't know what to do.

robertva1 8 hr. ago Reminded me when I was called into.a.meeting and accused of theft. They said they had the theft on video. But would.allow me to resign in lue of being fired. I said no and demanded to see the video. I was instead sent home with pay for that day. The next morning

started with another meeting. This time they told me if they showed me the video they would be forced to press charges in addition to being fired and once again extended the offer to resign.... This time I demanded a copy of the video for my lawyer and told

them I would take my chances with seeing the video. Again I was sent home this time with no pay and removed from the schedule. This time I went scorched earth. Called the

unemployment office to file complaint and corporate office. Was granted unemployment. And found out the manager was fired after the state launched an investigation

lovemoonsaults . 3 hr. ago Smells like they didn't like your email and perhaps cut bait when you mentioned requesting a transfer to me.. At will employers can fire you without reason, that's the nature of the beast.

It sucks but I've found in healthcare being fired doesn't follow you around too much. They all know termination can be due to fickle stupid and not necessarily because you're bad at the job. There's always a shortage of staff as well. So if they don't take your license or criminal charges happen, you should still be able to find new work in your field. File unemployment!!

Spirited Thought_426 30 min. ago. edited 25 min. ago Why would you ever tell them you want to transfer. That sealed the deal for them. If they paid you the bonus they will legally have to come after you ! Legal and Hr handles it. They will contact you if they want it back. Happened to me once. Nothing ever came of it and I got to keep a few grand. Circa 1992=2 grand :(
