5:58M. Good morning, ON* I was not informed that I would be required to work this upcoming Saturday. I have a secondary weekend job and require advance notice for the weekends, this is why me working full time overnight was dependent on having the weekends off. As much as I'd like to cover for after all he is going out of town, I already have a prior commitment work- related that night. Thank you, M all 100% I am willing to work around schedule-wise as I know this is just as short notice for you

NA RA N13406 +1000/= my managers reply: As we are working in the hospitality industry, the main requirement for everyone is to be flexible and/or available for any last-minute calls as well as sick callouts, along with personal time off coverage when extra help is needed. All staff members, including management team members comply with this rule. In times when staff members are not available to cover, in a case like this one, the management team members required to step in as well; As you may al

5:59 MX. ON lll 100% Another thing to highlight is that we were completely unaware of your second job, nor had we anticipated that a week ahead notice would not be enough for you to cover the shift. We provided you with the schedule a whole week ahead, which should have been more than enough to keep you well-informed about any potential changes, considering that the schedule is posted on a weekly basis, and it is a subject to change depending on staff availability and vacation requests. 5:59 Hi M One week notice.docx DOCX-6 KB ON* 100% Tue Thank you for your reply. I had notified you of this secondary job multiple times - first, during my initial interview with where I said only two things were important to me regarding my work schedule. 1. That I don't work overnights and 2. That if for some reason I do work overnights, it's not the weekend as I have commitments somewhere else on the weekends. The second time I informed you was in person, in your office, right before the weeke

5:59 M. ON* all 100% : person, in your office, right before the weekend of September 2nd and 3rd. When I explained to you what I do and why I can't work overnights on weekends. However as you might be remembering now, I called the secondary place and found someone to cover for me for that weekend on short notice so l could come in to the instead. I apologize that these moments did not stand out to the team as something to be remembered. I try to be as accommodating as I can with short notice sch

(Pics are in order of emails sent, first is my email) Some context: I'm on a fixed monday-friday overnight schedule and have been without any change whatsoever for the past 6 months. This was verbally agreed when I took the role with only exception (one time in September when they needed me).

And the "recent call outs" she mentions are when my flight got delayed due to extreme weather and I left them know I would be stranded at an airport.. I let them know 18 hours in advance. She suddenly changed the next week's schedule on me after having a fixed schedule for so long. She got I with me. Looks like she will be covering that shift after all!

Leading Kale_81. 3 hr. ago I absolutely love that you made it a one week notice. After all, the manager was very adamant about one week being plenty of time to make arrangements.

mescalinebabies OP. 3 hr. ago I actually let out a sigh of relief when she chose to say that in the email because just because I was already planning on quitting. She basically gave me my perfect wording.

nexutus 4 hr. ago I never will understand why managers/companies will play these stupid games: First they agree to your limitations surrounding work schedules. Then after a few months they start to back away from that commitment and will slowly try to push back on you defending those boundaries.

At the end when your schedule finally collides hard with a shift they will try to gaslight you by saying "We can not give you this freedom" and "What kind of teammate are you". And then as the cherry on top they will sit in their offices and meeting room to figure out why everyone is leaving. The solution is very clear: "Noone wants to work anymore"

mescalinebabies OP. 4 hr. ago The best part is they've flaunted their power over in a ton of ways - this is the 5th email worded this rudely in the past month. They'll nitpick anything, they've made comments about my body type (no I'm not kidding) - it got to the point where another coworker that doesn't even work near me said it was obvious they didn't like me.

Then comes this email.. implying I'm not a necessary member of the team because I had a limitation.. so I quit. I'm not necessary right? Watching them scramble to find a replacement is hilarious. How did you get away with borderline bullying for months only to be shocked when I quit? Isn't this what you wanted? No one wants to work anymore indeed... 707 Reply Share

Bug1031 3 hr. ago Why is it so hard for companies to have a set schedule for everyone? This weekly posted schedule nonsense is just a control tactic to limit hours and control time off. 336 Reply Share
