‘Have some self respect and leave your wife’: Wife Uses Open Marriage as an Excuse to Cheat on Husband

Fidelity and infidelity, it's the crux of couples. Without trust, there is no real relationship. Trust is the most important part of a relationship because if you can't believe your partner's words or actions, then there is no respect. Love can bear a lot, but it can't always take the blows of infidelity. Sometimes it can, and through therapy and a lot of hard work it's possible to come out stronger on the other side. But everything is contextual; the story of what happened, if it's premeditated, if there's obvious lying involved. 

Having an open marriage could be a legitimate way to cope with the shock and pain of finding out a partner cheated. It's giving the couple a way to keep going with the given circumstance. But it doesn't always end well either. Sometimes it can create more pain and heartache that didn't need to be there, and that neither person wants. Once cheating happens, it's usually a good time to move on.
