'Only in New York': Enchanted mob gathers to watch a masked stranger eat an entire bucket of cheeseballs

New York City is a special place. There are very few places in the world where, on the same day, you can brush elbows with the 1% and watch a rat scurry down the subway stairs dragging a $1 slice of pizza. In a city where anything is possible, why wouldn't a man become a local legend by eating his way through a bucket of cheese puffs?

Over the weekend, the self-proclaimed ‘Cheeseball Man’ posted fliers all over Manhattan, advertising a spectacle of biblical proportions happening in Union Square; he planned to consume an entire Costco-sized bucket of cheese puff snacks. That's a lot of Red 40 in one sitting! 

Unsurprisingly, an entire mob of onlookers was present for the ordeal. In classic New York fashion, this random street performer (if you can even call it that), amassed a crowd of hundreds to witness him eating an unconventional lunch. Doubters and skeptics gathered from all over the city to watch Cheeseball Man eat his snacks, and in only 25 minutes, he cemented his legendary status with one final crunch.
