I haven't worked at my fast food job for about two weeks now, I worked there for nearly 2 years but after a ton of lis about promoting me, exploiting me, admitting to using me and taking advantage of me, etc I was over it because my partner moved it and we could manage for the time being, and I've already found a new job.

Well I just got a text from one of the managers I was/am friends with (she is no doubt being coerced to text me in the GM's place) saying our GM wants to know if I can come in for $50 tonight because they're desperate. Not surprised, I was one of many who quit including another manager. First off, what a low offer. Second off, is that not illegal lol?

iDam81 19h ● If that is an 8 hour shift, that is 6 bucks an hour. They're apparently not desperate enough. Reply 42.3k ...

superstition40 - 19h $50 sounds real low for this. They're the ones desperate for the help. $200 sounds more appropriate for an off the books, one time night of labor ... Reply 644

catistix OP. 19h I'm not gonna, $50 is low considering how they treated me and the job itself just stressed me out to the ends of the earth I was looking for any reason to get out ... 276

CrossThe River • 18h Add a zero as a counter offer and demand payment up front as soon as you get there. If they refuse I guess they aren't that desperate are they? ... 4148

mybreakfastiscold • 19h ● It's legal as long as they collect for taxes and whatever else. There's no law saying any company needs a person to be onboarded to their "company employee system", or put through orientation, or all that other junk they make people do as new hires. All your w-4 and i-9 and other stuff are probably still on file since you left only 2 weeks ago. It might be a pita for the manager to put it through payroll, but they could get it done. But getting to the real facts, $50 fo

catistix OP. 19h He said $50 cash so I don't know if they'd collect for taxes in cash haha 8

Broner • 19h They probably aren't going through everything they legally need to, the post was just getting at how it isn't necessarily illegal. It's just an insultingly low dollar amount 46 6

childowind 18h Former payroll here. If it's only been 2 weeks, chances are that this could still be the same pay period and it would literally take 5 seconds to change status back in the system. That's even if the status has been changed to reflect OP leaving yet to begin with. ↑ 6 ↓
