'[I'm] just shocked she would just let herself in': Hotel guest gets shocking surprise during trip abroad
Let this person's story be a cautionary tale for any traveler.
Do you use your hotel's safe while traveling? For a lot of people, they don't think they have anything valuable enough to store inside it, so they just don't use it. Other people use them every time in order to protect their wallets, keys, jewelry, and other valuables.
This person was startled to learn that a hotel maid may have been trying to steal from them. In fact, it seems like the maid stole their money right in front of them! The original poster, u/Alert_Astronaut4901, writes that they had this bizarre exchange with a room cleaner while on vacation abroad. The original poster was in their hotel room relaxing when the maid knocked. I guess this traveler didn't have any kind of deadbolt or chain lock to use, so the person knocking just decided to enter. The traveler then found themself in an awkward situation with the cleaner.
