‘You’re no longer the maid of honor’: Woman Decides to Opt Out of Her Best Friend’s Wedding After Being Demoted From MOH to a Bridesmaid, While Bride Still Demands She Attend
No matter where you're born, which country, language, religion, or culture, weddings are a big deal. They hold a historical significance rooted in tradition for that said culture. It's an example of the values and conduct people should adhere by. But let's be honest, maybe it's got too much weight than it's worth.
There's always an important aspect of roles in weddings. Who you assign as your maid of honor, bridesmaids, best man, etc can impact real life friendships. Imagine you're best friends with someone and they're getting married. Imagine they actually tell you you're the maid of honor, the title you've always wanted and looked forward to. Now imagine they strip you of that title, that role to give to their sister. It would seem like a mean slap in the face. Although, it's still your best friend's wedding…choosing not to go is basically giving your friend and her future husband a big middle finger. But hey, you were supposed to be the maid of honor.
