r/ r/legaladvice u/dbaser13 17h Join Ex-girlfriend spent @ 30k on amazon and DoorDash over a 3-year period. I didn't notice. We remained friends after breaking up. I'm terrible with keeping an eye on my finances. I have a normal checking account that receives my paychecks via direct-deposit and auto-pays my credit cards. I never look at it. She had used my debit card frequently when we were together, and it was saved on her iOS devices. I put a stop to it a couple months ago, and I'm wondering w

punk rock HR manager @SureZher Replying to @LeaMaric Follow This isn't financial literacy IMHO, but a lack of impulse control, denial of spending habits and an attitude of "if I can afford it, who cares"

@LaMaric 03 Apr The fact that he doesn't bother to check his statements at all, even just for fraud, is pretty stupid though.

Patti McClowry @pattimcclowry • 03 Apr: Replying to @LeaMaric She could just say that he told her to do this and is all of a sudden regretting his choice three years later. Since it's been going on for 3 years without him stopping it, seems like it would imply consent, or at least would be hard to prove consent wasn't given 127 1.7K 215K ex @LeaMaric ⚫ 03 Apr She very easily could get away with that. He'd have to find some kind of documentation (idk if texts would count tbh) of their official br

Dr. Rupert, Archbigot @RupertVonRipp Replying to @LeaMaric Follow I'd ask how you spend 10k a year on delivery take out but that's what? A few times a week?

Light Blue Truck @LightBlueChevy Replying to @LeaMaric Follow That's $27/day. If it's normal household stuff from Amazon that you would have bought anyway and a couple doordashes per month, that's not that bad.

Atticus 32 13 L... @onexrd Replying to @LeaMaric Follow It's such a problem that at this point I refuse to call it a financial literacy problem. It's a people not using their brains bc their parents didn't use their brains problem

Alevity @AlevityXiaku 03 Apr • Replying to @LeaMaric I think it's more telling the absurdity that this lifestyle costs 30k. Cuz if you think about it, DoorDash doesn't work if it's only ever supposed to be a luxury tier. If only the rich had DoorDash access, they'd go under and a lotta people would lose their jobs.

TheManAnimal @The_Man_Animal Replying to @LeaMaric Follow 27+ bucks a day on takeout. Holy Just imagine how much more food you could get with that 20$ markup.

Kitty Wenham-Ross @kittywenham Follow why is everyone more baffled by someone spending 10k a year on deliveries and not the person who doesn't notice they're losing 10k a year
  • 18
Lisan al Gaeulib @DonGaeuleone Follow I was thinking 30k isn't a lot for like 3 years till I realized he meant POST break up which lol

Venom Rach P @SocialNomadRach Follow The first mistake was staying friends. The second was not changing your credit card information immediately.

The Neighborhood Publ... @nhoodpublicist Follow was Umm this breaks down to $800 a month over a 3 year period. And I bet his eating a lot of the food they got delivered so what is he exactly mad at? That food cost that much or that he didn't look at his bank statements?
