Several years back I was looking to buy a new car, something a bit faster and more fitting for my love of driving. While looking around I was genuinely pricing up a new Civic Type R instead of saving for a deposit on a house. This is when I came across a local dealership who had a heavily modified Fiesta ST2. It's a small local dealership run by 1 guy who mostly acts as a sort of sales broker for people struggling to sell privately.

I contacted the dealer and arranged a test drive during my lunch break that week. I got in and as a started it up, a warning popped up on the dash saying "Type pressure sensors not installed". I queried this with the dealer and he said not to worry and it would be sorted by the time I bought the car as it had just come in and they hadn't been able to do their usual touch ups. Fair enough, on with the test drive. I pretty much fell in love within 5 minutes and long story short, traded my old car

When I came to collect the keys, I got in the car and what do you know, the same warning message has come up. I turn the car off and head back inside to talk to the dealer and he claims he never agreed to that and it's only £100 to get them installed and gave me the contact details for a local garage. He only said he'd get them installed verbally so I didn't have any proof. Needless to say I was p ed.

Over the next 4 years I loved the car, got the sensors installed and told everybody that story and to stay clear of him as he's a liar and generally doesn't treat you well after he's got your money. At the 4 year mark, I was once again looking for a new car as I'd definitely outgrown the Fiesta. This time I was in the market for an Audi RS3, 2018 or newer with a budget of around £40k. I checked all the local dealerships but none of them had anything like that EXCEPT for the same dealership I bou

I contacted them about it and once again arranged a test drive. Went on the test drive, had a good time but honestly wasn't 100% sold. He asked me what I thought and I lied and said that I loved it, apart from the silver trim on the front. To nobody's surprise, he said he could get that changed if I'd agree to the sale today. I couldn't hide the massive grin on my face when I said "No thank you, I've heard that one before from you and that

turned out to be a lie". There was a moment of confusion, followed by an obvious realisation with a hint of regret. I left without buying the car - despite his best efforts trying to cut me a deal as an apology. The fact was, I simply didn't want to give this

guy my money. I went to another dealership and Ended up buying a brand new A35 which I've still got to this day and absolutely love. TL;DR - salesman went back on his word about installing a £100 part, lost a £40k sale 4 years later.

Forward-Wear7913 · 2 days ago Many companies do not understand that the bad customer service they provide really can come back to bite them. My father had an issue with a phone that he bought. He asked them to provide a part and they absolutely refused. It was many years ago.

They were very to him and he told them that if this company ever came up in terms of a purchase, he would make sure that they did not get that purchase. He worked in IT for a a very large corporation and lo and behold this company bid on a very expensive contract. It was millions of dollars.

My father was in the meeting and told him that this company had no respect for its customers and due to that comment, they did not get the contract. So, refusing to provide a $10 item cost them millions.

couldashouldawoulda 1 day ago We sold a house a few years ago and I, unfortunately, chose the wrong realtor. He said all the right things, and kept talking about his vast experience in the area. The house sold for asking price, but we knew it should have sold higher. Nothing was selling at asking during that time.

We found out that another realtor knew of our open house and scheduled one on a nearby property for the evening after our showing. 4 potential bidders all said they needed to wait until they saw the other house. Our realtor knew that and still proceeded with the showing and bidding. Then he made an error in the contract and

cost me about $3k in items inside the house because he didn't exclude them from the sale. He also didn't even show up at the closing and house handover so it was a complete mess. His commission alone was about $10k on that sale.

Guess who we didn't call when we bought a new house that cost almost double what we sold that for? Guess who we didn't call when we bought and sold several properties since then? Being short sighted cost him at least $50k since that sale. Money our current realtor was all too happy to accept. (He really does a great job, he's earned every cent).

The best part was that one of our new neighbors asked if we needed a realtor for another house we were selling. I said we have one and mentioned the nightmare we had with that one company/agent. Neighbor had a shocked Pikachu face and said his father is the boss of that office. He passed on our concerns.

I like to imagine that conversation when his boss knows they lost several listings due to his negligence.
