If you've ever worked from early in the morning to late at night every day for an extended period, you know that it drives you insane. I'm not even someone who thinks "the grindset" is inherently harmful. It's admirable to want to work long and hard hours to achieve a goal, but you have to be realistic with yourself. If you think you can work 12-hour days consistently for 52 weeks out of the year, good luck Charlie. If those hours are necessary during a quarterly "busy time," I could understand that, but expecting every single one of your employees to go above and beyond every day for years is completely unrealistic. The CEO of a tech company recently went viral for emailing employees, demanding that they work from 8 AM-9 PM every Monday through Friday. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this company might struggle with worker retention.
