This husband is in hot water with his significant other after he left out a crucial detail about a work event. It all revolves around a certain work party: a dinner held to celebrate the employees meeting their financial goals.
Every company has different etiquette rules regarding business dinners and other social events. Sometimes spouses are invited, sometimes they aren't, and some companies never allow a plus-one. This person, who has since deleted their Reddit account, shared that their husband was invited to an event where no spouses were permitted. Though the original poster (OP) thought that was odd and "tacky," they just let their husband go ahead and attend the event alone. From there, things snowballed, as they shared in this post to r/AITAH (Am I the A**hole Here).
In the comments, the OP revealed more about the unfortunate situation, and it seems to have more to do with office politics and their husband's behavior than with the OP's behavior. If your spouse is embarrassed to bring you to events, that's a red flag. Hopefully it was a wake-up call for this person, since the post is less than a month old at the time of this publication. Let's hope that one day soon the OP will return to r/AITAH with an update sharing that they've left their husband.
Next up, read about the awful ways people started speeches, like the person who admitted, "I appear to have deleted my speech."
