bunny_fae Had an awful shift. We had mostly European and foreign clientele, most were (rolling eyes at me, snapping for my attention everytime, not tipping well, etc.) but my very last table at the end of a 12 hour clopen were so genuinely nice and kind. Each had cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desert, and I sincerely

thanked them for being the bright ending to my night that I needed. They were autograt as per company policy, but they noticed I outlined it on the receipt and called me over to let me know they tipped me an extra 50% because of my honesty. My whole day was worth it because of them.

ZoeTheCutestPir... we COOKED today. Just me and the bartender handling the inside the patio. Started off slow but then we got slammed for about 2 hours before it slowed down again, only to get busy again towards shift change. Had some specials going on and I definitely gave some parties a great time :>

WantedFun Slow until 8pm, big rush but not unmanageable by any means, epically not with a full serving staff. Tonight was just a regular busy night tbh.

Ended with a 17% tip average, which is great for a chilis where families will drop $300 on dinner and tip $5-10 while praising you. Even had someone get the manager to personally tip me $20 even after their food was nearly an hour late due to system errors (order didn't fully send through).
  • 11
Their entire meal was comped (over $130) but they still wanted to tip me even after being food was late because I | their fixed the problem as soon as I realized. Didn't have cash so they requested a manager to run their card and tip me

FederalBuddy7419 My day was busy and really good. Sales 2216 and came home with 24% after tipping out. People were really good. A normal weekend people . I get excited and really love the fast paced always moving thing. I challenge myself with stupid little things like upselling and how fast my turn time is.

I think another said it. It's the nature of the beast. I don't take it so seriously. Hope everyone else's day was good and if not it can only get better tomorrow. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms

somedude456 Had a new moment today. I had a large table, 10 top. I was about to take orders, 1-2 people had small questions and I see 4 people sit on my bussed 4 top table. It wasn't wiped nor prepped for a seating. This is fine dining. I'm screaming in my head. I start taking orders for the 10, I'm like 2 order in and the two

kids about 8 years old, from that 4 top run over, like super close to me and say, "hey, we need menus." I apologized to the 10 top, turned to the kids and said, "EXCUSE ME, I AM SPEAKING TO THESE PEOPLE RIGHT NOW." The one kid says "oh." I look back at the 10, they are equally confused and then I realize the two kids are still standing next to me, like

waiting for me to get the menus. I look over again and firmly and rudely say "GO SIT DOWN!" I continue taking orders for the 10 top, while from the corner of my eye, trying to spot a manager. None. I finish getting their order, don't dare look at that 4, and walk away... straight to
  • 17
management to inform them they need to go kick that 4 top out, as we are very much still on a wait, and further, IF they even do have a reservation, they better not be resat at that table. They tried telling management I was getting them drinks. ?
  • 18
Management knew it was BS and since they had no reservation and we were not even taking walk ins, they were asked to leave.

PublicVeterinaria... got yelled at after my managers decided on a limited menu for mothers day
  • 20
CleverInnuendo Not the worst I've ever worked, not by a Longshot. But the night before was a hydra with the heads of Prom, Graduation and "Mother's Day Pregaming". In 10 years there, easily top 5 "Kitchen the Bed" - moments. I had to coach my tables at the pitch that in order for me to ensure a

good night, I needed the whole order at once. I'd ring in dinner, go get a round of drinks, do a first- bite check on another table, and then ring in apps. They get priority, and the party doesn't realize it took an hour and 10 minutes.

te... Restaurant itself was fine and all my tables were decent, a couple tables left me nothing but at least didn't give me a hard time. But today right in the middle of my shift I realized how much I hated management. Lately there's been a lot of foh drama and one manager has been picking fights with me more often now. The job

itself isn't bad and I can handle the heat on any holiday, but if there's no morale in the workplace and management is constantly on a power trip then at least give me health insurance and pto, if not yall can eff right off. Looking for another job as I type this lol
  • 24
Independent-Ar... We're usually closed but decided to open the entire day causing the whole staff to be there for a 14 hour shift. We broke personal records for covers and went over $50k in sales
  • 25
sensitivebee8885 Server busy, stressful, tiring, but not bad. money wise could've been better if i didn't get stiffed by this table just walking out angry. i swear mother's day and sundays in general are when all the entitled people come out to eat
  • 26
LiplessDoggie Had the closing shift. I mainly work bar on Sundays and only take tables if we're swamped. Took three inside tables wirh a full bartop and service well. My server was a rockstar, handled three 14 tops with ease plus all the other tables. All walk-ins. OK night but not as busy as I hoped it'd be. Enjoying a smoke before I put this baby to bed.

Hope everybody else had a good night, tomorrow is a fresh new

milky-pro Server When I walked in they told me I would be hosting instead of serving because they needed a strong host so that the rotation didn't get messed up at most l made 88 dollars the WHOLE DAY. I feel like for all the work I did I deserve more ESPECIALLY all the people who were literal to me like omg. Some people.
  • 29
walked in and put their name down on the waitlist and they see me actively seating. everyone AS FAST AS POSSIBLE and I get back to the host stand and they're like "is my name still on the list?" LIKE NO I JUST ERASED YOUR NAME ANS DIDNT TELL YOU. like duh it is still on there. I'm not just skipping your name on purpose like what.

xkrazyxcourtneyx I was scheduled 8-3. I walked in at 7:50 and got quadruple sat before I even clocked in. Ticket times were close to an hour. The expo line and server area were a mess all day. I contemplated quitting 4837283 times.
  • 31
I didn't leave until 6. And I didn't have any sidework (I was assigned as the checker for other servers because of my out time) I got home and near cried when I took my shoes off. Then my boyfriend picked me up for dinner and we had LOTS of drinks.
