This is one of our favorite Hollywood stories. Back in 2020 a photo album was discovered in a Belgian thrift store called Opnieuw & Co in Mortsel. It was a very unassuming pink, floral album on the outside, but inside it contained a treasure trove of Hollywood history, featuring photos of numerous cinematic icons such as Johnny Depp, Julia Roberts, William Shatner, and Harrison Ford, all pictured next to a sweet middle-aged woman with curly two-toned hair, smiling and embracing the stars. And were not talking about one or two photos - page after page in the album revealed more and more top tier celebrities, all hugging the same mysterious woman.
After the Facebook post, showcasing the album went viral, The woman was finally identified as Maria Snoeys-Lagler, a former member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), known for the Golden Globes Awards. Snoeys-Lagler, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 87, was often seen at galas, parties, and luxury destinations alongside movie executives and stars.
