Happy Independence Day! I love animals, they are the only thing keeping me sane these days. If I'm being honest, I don't feel all that patriotic these past couple of decades… I want to write about how awesome it is to live in the U.S. and that these patriotic pets make me feel proud to be an American. But I would be lying. Don't get me wrong! I try not to take for granted the freedoms and liberties I do have. It's just, not to fall down the dark and dreary political hole, we need an age limit on the presidency. Okay, there I said it, and I am not the only American who feels this way. Sorry, not sorry. See, I'm already getting all worked up. Let's just celebrate these adorable Americats and patriotic Pupriots this year, grill some hotdogs and burgers, and enjoy some fireworks. Being American, aka a hodgepodge of cultures who gathered in one place to embrace and fight for being whoever you wanted to be, is a beautiful thing—and these pets will never forget that!
