At this "tourist hotspot," a lot of guests demand only the finest treatment. They want the nicest, biggest rooms, the most photogenic food choices, and of course, massive discounts. Why? Well, because they're influencers, of course. They're basically celebrities in their own minds.
Some influencers will plan entire vacations to film for their social media pages. Apparently, some of them will bring along bags of clothing, or wear three or four outfits in layers, so that they can maximize photoshoots at each destination. They want everything they do to be able to be shared online, so they want to see the prettiest destinations and eat the most Instagrammable foods.
This applies to their hotel experience, too. At a lot of hotels, the staff are happy to accommodate special requests, like if you mention that it's your anniversary trip, they might leave you a fruit basket or a bouquet of flowers. Hotels want to give you the best treatment possible… but only to guests who ask nicely. Guests who berate staffers are not going to get 5-star service, as u/OddHiroMitarashi22 shared in their sister's story of malicious compliance.
After you read that, check out these design fails that were dubious from the start, like the stairs that are sure to take out an ankle or two.
